May 2009 was when the start-up “The GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail” cut its ribbon with 3000 people hitting the trail that day on the then only 4-mile section in Travelers Rest. 6 years and 14 more miles later the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail sees over a half a million users annually. It has quickly become the Main St for Greenville County.

Enjoy an evening discussing the unique culture that has been built around the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail from how the Mayor of Greenville thought the name “Swamp Rabbit” was “Sticky” and gave his support to carry the name through the iconic parks of downtown Greenville, to how businesses are seeking out locations along the trail not merely for customers but because it provides a “coolness” that helps recruit employees. This evening will also be a chance to paint the future of this truly collaborative project that is bringing regular national recognition for not merely its heavy use but for cultural identity is has and continues to create.
